What is green building and why build green?
Green building is a general term that encompasses may ideas and practices that are good for people and the environment. It provides comfort and a healthy living environment for its inhabitant while creating resource efficient buildings. Through various design strategies, material selection and systems a high performance building can be created that benefits the inhabitants, locality, while minimizing global warming and pollution.
The ideas behind green building are straight forward. However, they go beyond code minimum. Green building is the energy codes of the future. Through conceptual and technical understanding these principles they can be implemented effectively. A green building needs a green planner and builder.
